Liberian Business Leader Praises China-Africa Trade Ties at Guangzhou SME Fair
MONROVIA – The President of the Liberian Business Association in China, Mr. Boima Fahnbulleh, has lauded the Africa-Guangdong Business Association for including Liberian entrepreneurs in the recent 20th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) – Africa Imported Products Promotion Conference. The event took place on June 30, 2025, at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou.
Speaking as a key panelist, Fahnbulleh highlighted the strong trade relations between Liberia and China, emphasizing Liberia’s role as a vital business partner for Chinese enterprises. He noted that the invitation to Liberian businesses would significantly strengthen bilateral trade and investment.

“China has played a crucial role in Liberia’s post-war recovery, even contributing to UN peacekeeping efforts that restored stability,” Fahnbulleh stated. “Today, we enjoy peace and growing commercial ties between our nations.”
He reiterated that Liberia remains open for business, aligning with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s vision, and stressed China’s importance in Liberia’s economic growth. “Our country is still developing infrastructure, particularly road networks, and China’s support is essential,” he added. “Recently, Vice President Jeremiah Koung visited China to explore machinery for road construction—this conference further opens doors for Liberian traders in China.”
However, Fahnbulleh pointed out key challenges, including visa restrictions hindering Liberian business operations. “We appeal for one-year visa extensions to facilitate smoother trade engagements,” he urged.
